A year on ?????

Wow it's been a year since I last posted,reason I had no computer and as our library is closing couldn't use theirs, anyway lots has happened during the year, moved house again, last move no matter where my OH gets work, he can move on his own lol, I have moved nearer my gran children they live just 5mins away now which is brilliant, which means I get to see them everyday and they have stop overs at mine too which they love.

The other great news is that my son and his partner have a baby girl and they named her Danni Leigh, which is a lovely name, she was born in June this year, and is growing really well, love the stage she is at now cos she is starting to notice things and faces oh she is beautiful!!!!!

a few weeks ago

Mammy and Daddy are gone crazy buying for baby for Xmas, aw well she is their first baby and her first Xmas.......

I also had a surprise birthday in September, my OH arranged for us to go to dinner at the Pastures hotel in north Yorkshire, which I have never been before, which is a beautiful place.

As we arrived my OH lead me into foyer, which is pictured below and do you see where the suite of furniture is well as I walked in, there were people sitting there,

I saw them but just carried on and then I heard my name been called and looked around, and those people sitting there where my 3 younger brothers and my sister, and I just stood there looking gobsmacked, my youngest brother I haven't seen since I moved over to the UK in 2000, so as you can imagine there were alot of happy tears and plenty hugging, it was brilliant!!!!

Hand warmers/socks

Just a few new knits I have done this week,

well it is getting colder now

so gloves and chunky socks are in order,

actually my daughter clocked these and has claimed them for herself,

then she spotted the hand warmers to go with the socks and claimed those as well and then she said she would have preferred gloves (cheeky) so I knit these extra covers to go with them making them gloves/hand warmers so she could wear them either way plus I crochet a frilly bit on end

these hand warmers are for myself they will be great when I'm doing some cross-stitching or knitting or crocheting or whatever I'm doing for keeping my hands lovely and warm.....

The Morphine happy cloud ???

Well what a start to the week (last week) I woke up early in pain, not unusual but difference this morning I couldn't get my breath and the pain in my chest was painful, just as well I had an appointment to see the doctor, never said anything to hubby cos he would panic, so off we set to doctors just 5Min's walk away literally, got to see on time too which was great, explained wat was wrong and he decided that an ambulance was called for to take me to hospital that I might be having a heart attack, so as you can imagine panic set in, thoughts flooded my head,( ie hubby,kids, did I turn off oven, oh the washing in the machine needs taking out, have the dogs been fed, thank God!!! I put my good bra on this morning and matching knickers etc ) I felt so embarrassed been put in the wheel chair and brought through the doctors reception mind ya I had a mask on so no-one knew me anyway in the back of ambulance and they kept asking was I in pain did I want morphine and I refused, well I didn't feel in that much pain plus I take loads of painkiller for my back, to cut a long story short I was strapped to heart mointer and needle in arm xrays taken doctor poking and prodding asking when and where the pain was when did it start how did it start etc, after hours of all of this and eventually having to have the morphine and they decided to keep me in hospital for some more poking and prodding and feeling happy on happy cloud of morphine they (the heart doctors) I was not having a heart attack(Thank God) I pulled a muscle in my chest and they gave me a prescription of painkillers and sent home to rest. Now I did feel embarrassed and so so stupid after that revelation a pulled muscle all that worry over a pulled muscle, now that could only happen to me......

What a miserable day it was today, rain and more rain, and its to last for a few day's,there is football on TV tonight so I thought I would use the time wisely and visit my favourite blogs and see what everyone is up to, and wow what a surprise alot of my blog friends have been really busy little bee's in their crafts projects, it took me ages to visit my blog friends but worth the trip.

I was watching one of my favorite programmes on TV today, late afternoon really from 4/6pm on living channel it was CHARMED.

Charmed is an American television series it follows the lives of four Halliwell sisters — Prue, Piper, Phoebe and, later, Paige. The sisters are known as The Charmed Ones in the magical community, whose prophesied destiny is to protect innocent lives against evil beings, plus they each possess unique magical powers, anyway( there is a point to this story) today's series was about luck and leprechaun's,

I was just thinking wouldn't it be great to have some of their powers especial Pipers where she is able to freeze things and to have some luck from a leprechaun because all my luck gone and I could really do with some, now back to reality

Anyway I haven't been busy doing sewing or knitting this week, haven't been feeling myself, a bit under the weather, but I have crosstitched these which I think are so cute .

I have started my knitting my socks today, on circular needles two at the same time, and they are turning out lovely, I'm knitting them with James Brett Marble chunky wool , I bought the wool ages ago it's a 200g ball for £3.99 a ball and it is very easy to knit with, the needles I'm working with are the wooden ones and the wool glides over the needles very smoothly because it is lovely and soft its pink and purple in colour

the red ribbon are my stitch markers, cos I can't find my proper ones, the ribbon does the job though

What a terrible day it is today Sunday, wet and miserable now is the season to start on my knitting again get my needles singing to turn out some socks, scarfs and hats , maybe some gloves too, well I will need them for the winter and I dare say the family will want some too.

I have been working on some biscornu's I have odds and ends of Aida so I have looked back through my collection of cross-stitch magazines and decided that I also will be sewing bookmarks, and more biscornu's just to use up the Aida cos I hate waste like alot of crafters do I assume.We save every scrap of items never throw anything away, well I do ????

Well it's hard to believe it is September already how times flies, didn't get to go on a Holiday this year, hubby lost his job due to cut backs etc, it seems this year that I must have done something terrible in my past life to have so much very bad luck and big financial problems this year, finding it hard to cope but will keep on struggling on, I 'm in good health so shouldn't complain .

I have been doing some stitching to keep sane, I seem to have small pieces of Aida and didn't know what to do with them so while I was browsing the Internet I came across Biscornu's and if you don't know what a biscornu is well here is some information :

A biscornu is a small, 8-sided, stuffed ornamental pincushion, usually made out of Aida cloth or linen. Embroidery or cross-stitch is used to decorate the top and bottom of the cushion. A button is typically secured in the center of the cushion to give a small depression on the top. Beads, tassels and other objects can decorate the biscornu. They are typically able to fit in the palm of your hand. The name is derived from a French adjective, meaning skewed, quirky or irregular.

On one of the new groups I have joined there was a plea for help, so I copyied and pasted the letter for you all to read here it is :

My mom is turning 54 in November and her blog is 1 year old then. Therefor she is doing a giveway each month untill her birthday. The name of her blog is mrs ongeduld, which means in English mrs Impatient. And trust me, she is impatient. But I can understand why, she didn't have a lot off luck in life and with being ill constantly it isn't easy

Went out to-day with OH for a drive well I say a drive, he was driving cos he was working on his delivering pea's to various markets, like Manchester, Sheffield,Leeds, Barnsley, and I went along for the ride and took my camera with me to take some pic off the wood head pass between Barnsley/Manchester over the Pennines, the scenery is beautiful, even though I hate that squiggly road, cos it makes me car sick yuk,

Anyway as we were driving alone we were nattering about the Formula 1 race today, cos I saw it all and OH only got to see up to about 45 laps of the 67,

so I was able to tell him who won, and all the controversial on the one-two result at the German Grand Prix, and my OH was grinning at me, and I asked why? he said" Do you know your blog the one I haven't read yet, well I think you should change the name, from The Sportswidow to the Sportswoman, cos he said " your very much into sports now, like formula 1, /Moto GP/ Golf / Cricket/ even down to Football," Well I said do ya know that saying : If ya can't beat em, then join em, and even better I even know the off-side rule in football is, just don't ask me to explain it, cos I can't, so now I will be part of the sporty crowd hee hee.

Busy Busy Busy

I have been really busy lately, my hands and sewing needles have been rather busy, I have 2 birthdays coming up,1 on the 26th which is my eldest daughter and she will be 28yrs old and then on the 29th is my other friends birthday and she will be 46 so I am sewing some birth samples for each of them and I hope they will like them, anyway when my needles are not sewing I am reading, at the moment I am reading a book by J.Randy Taraborrellli and its called Michael Jackson, the magic,the madness,the whole story.

It is very riveting and very thick it has 745 pages and its from the beginning of Michael's life to the end, I have read most books on Michael Jackson, but this one is the best I have ever read about him, its one of those books that when your reading it impossible to believe and believe all at the same time, and also how sad/lonely his life really was, there is a great quote at the beginning of the book which sums Michael Jackson to a tee.

Oriental Fans

I love anything oriental, hence the reason I love to cross-stitch oriental themes, here is what I am working on at the moment and its called Fans of the Far East....

There will be three Fans when finished and they will have three differant flowers, the Siberian iris is the flower of faith and hope, The exquisite Japanese poney brings to mind opulence and luxury and the creamy -yellow Magnolia represents tenderness and love of nature and there will also be a boarder so this is a big project and here is a pic of what it will look like when finished.

Oh nearly forgot here is finished laptop bag, I crochet this with 2 strands of wool together a pink and cream just left over wool .

Not been Idle been busy

Well I'm back at last, my computer broke and it would have cost too much to repair so I had to save up for a laptop, so I went shopping for one 3 weeks ago,I was delighted that I got one and then discovered while I was not on a computer someone decided to play games with my passwords on all my favorite sites, blogs,and even down to my e-mail accounts, (but luckily who ever it was could not get into pay pal account) so it took me awhile to get back my e-mails accounts and blogs etc and lots of phone calls later I'm back , Ya can't knock a good Irish woman down like me lol lol, it was annoying but as I always say, what goes around comes around.

So now back to what I was working on some crochet and knitting and here are the pictures of the baby cardigans,blankets, hats, and a pram-suit,

This was crochet in squares and then put together plus I lined the back of it to make it softer on babies skin, my friend was delighted with them all, and so was the expecting mother that makes me happy too...

Iam working on a cross-stitch project at the moment of 3 oriental fans and will post pic's on the progress of the fans, also the finishing touches to my crochet lap-top cover or bag,just t sew it all together.....

A night at the Dogs

I have been very busy over the last few weeks doing some projects, Knitting,crocheting,cross stitching, and I'm still crocheting blankets, there are for a very good friend of mine she is expecting 2 more granchildren, in april/june so far I know one baby expected is a boy , won't know till after the 23rd of this month what sex other baby is.

The cross stitching was for my friends 50th birthday,

sorry the pic is terrible and to the trained eye, I only seen it when I was uploading pic, that the box on the right hand side is wrong, need to get it back and fix it, huh

we also went out to the greyhound races in stainforth for her birthday, and it was a cracking night, won some money and lost some but the craic was great....

Winter Olympics

The opening ceremony of Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010 is taking place on February 12 at Vancouver BC Place Stadium, British Columbia in Canada, which has a capacity of 60000 seats. The Governor General of Canada, Michaelle Jean will open the biggest event of the year, The Theme for the games will be

"TO INSPIRE THE WORLD" and ,for the last couple of weeks the olympics have been advertiseing it on TV with the tune of "cry me a river" sung by Michael Buble his version, love that song I even have that tune on my phone it's funny really cos when the Olympic tune came on tv I would pick up my phone, thinking it was my phone ringing lol.

The opening ceremony was awesome

I loved the way the torch was lite it was fantastic the way the three poles came together in the middle so the flame in centre could be lite,

The big point, following the solemn talk from the commissioners was k.d. lang amid an arena of candles singing the work of another Canadian laureate, Leonard Cohen with the song know as a song from "Shrek," the lovely "Hallelujah

My Favorite sporting event at the Olympics is the figure skating, but with the time differance I have some late nights, plus I can watch it in peace

My hubby has reminded me that my blog is called the sport's widow and that I seem to write about sports on the blog, and when the olympics are on I watch sports well I write on what I like lol

On a sad note It was terrible sad to hear the shocking news the death of 21-year-old Nodar Kumaritashvili, who crashed at speeds of more than 90mph on one of the most dangerous sections of the luge run

One of my Friend's daughter's had a baby girl her first and my heart went out to her cos her partner is in army and is serving oversea's at the moment he was able to get some leave but not much and he did get to see his daughter born and was able to spend a week wit mother and baby,so I crochet an outfit for baby, all in pink and white and they are so adorable,

Now my other friend her 2 son's partners are expecting babies end of March, so I'm busy knitting outfits all in blue or white because their expecting Boy's, and crocheting blankets too plus my friends 50th Birthday is on the 7th March and and she hopes to go abroad for her birthday which I cannot go due to lack of funds, I keep joking with her that she is older than me, only by 6 months though, so I'm stitching her a suprise, so you can see I am pretty busy crafting at the moment and will be for a while yet.

A New Discovery (photos are yuk)

We as in my hubby and I made a discovery today,well I said we but I really meant me,
As you know we moved house just before Christmas still sorting it out,ie like decorating ect you know what I mean anyway there is 2 small sheds in garden that are built into house but they are full up with odd doors garden lawn-mowers motor bike parts basically full to the brim with rubbish,
For a couple of weeks now I have been saying that I could hear running water near the sheds but was told it was my imagination as men usual do say so I decided to get the sheds cleaned if I left it up to hubby they would still be full of rubbish anyway I had ordered a skip to get rid of all rubbish in these sheds and it came this morning Monday and the cleaning commenced, and no we didn't look like Kim and Aggie from How clean is your house I love that programme as we were shifting the rubbish into the skip we discovered an outside toilet (a broken one at that) with a burst pipe and the water flooding everywhere, so it wasn't my imagination then, but hubby tried to fix burst pipe and it broke in half and he got soaked and I mean soaked, I nearly wet myself laughing, it was really funny, couldn't get a photo though cos he ran off inside house before I could could get camera, it was like a scene from a Carry on Movie we could call it Carry on at the Bog, hee hee

We had to get a plummer out, and he came pretty quickly, he also got soaked but he had protected clothing on, fixed it within minutes, job done, and all we had to do then was take it all out and use it as a bike shed ...

Now you got a warning look if you dare...

New House

Well we have moved house and trying to get it sorted out before christmas is a squeeze but as long as down stairs is done I won't mind,We are going to be putting up trimmings tomorrow and no problem finding all trimming's this year because of the house move,suppose that is one good reason of moving house lol,writing this on my I -touch -pod "technology is great don't you think "I haven't got my computer set up yet so will do after Christmas ,haven't done any crafting been real busy but I might do some tomorrow Sunday and try and relax and not be as manic as I'm been told this week by my OH he keep's telling me to slow down but mind ya he would live with boxes everywhere just like all men really hee hee
Going to watch the new Harry Potter movie The half blood prince have ordered it on sky will watch it after the X Factor....

Not very good at blogging lately

Haven't been very good at blogging lately, I could blame it on alot of things but what's that saying a poor workman blames it on his tools think that's it, see there I go again ramblinging again, tut tut

I do have great intentions when I log on to computer, I'm going to up-date my blog and then I start to reads other people's blogs and I seem to get lost in them, like there would be a link to a great pattern for knitting/crocheting/cross stitching and then I click and that leads to another blog so on and so on and before I know it family are home and hungry and I didn't up-date my blog!!!! and then I promice my-self that I will do it later but later on and I just get settled and couldn't be bothered (smack on the hand I need lol)

I am still cross stitching the geshia lady and finding it a bit of a problem but I will continue at it till I'm finished which I haven't that much to do now, just the edges and backstitching

Could do with a new computer as this one is so very slow has been for a while, but I will manage with it till I can afford a new one...

I now have internet on my mobile phone and its great which means i can go on internet when ever, where ever i am, like having to wait to see doctor in hospital or surgery anywhere really that your left waiting for am hour or so which really drives me nuts cos did you ever notice that if you have am appointment and you arrive in plenty of time, your always left waiting for ages ,but if your late thats a differant story cos your appointment gets canceled and you have to get another one now thats very annoying, dont you agree? Well i have nearly finished my Graceful geisha cross stitch and i have started another one its Japanese fans from the works of JOAN ELLIOTT an oriental odyssey she has made some beautiful designes in this book , you can get book from RU CRAFT.CO.UK they have some lovely crafty stuff in catalogue winter 09

New Gaget's

Got this new gaget to-day in post it's a lap frame for holding your cross stitching in place so your both hand's are free to use also it helps to take away the cramp you sometime's get in your hands while holding your hoop/frame all the time, I bid on about a week ago on e-bay and forgot I did and as you can see I won !!!!and I was the only bidder too, only problem is I bought a standing frame to from craft site it'hasn't arrived yet, but I think I will wait till the standing frame comes and see which one is better to use and then sell the other one on e-bay

Here is a piece of the stitching I am doing its the True Oriental Beauty the most graceful geisha, the pattern is from The world of cross stitching issue 151, I have decided to do it on 14count aida and the aida is pink in colour I think it show's off the colour better, in fact since I started this 2weeks ago, I have become obsessed with Geshia's so I have collected a few so far and have ordered some more threads to do some oriental fans and another geshia .

So I can't wait to finish this one and I won't be giving this one away this is for me hee hee

Multi Tasking

Watched Tennis to-day,

the Great Britain double's Andy Murray and Ross Hutchins against the Polish pair Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski, in the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas, at the 02 Arena in Liverpool, well had to really no other choice hubby loves his sports, thats why my blog is called the sports widow.

Anyway back to what I was saying, while I was watching and stitching to-day they showed a woman knitting in the crowd, and the commentators Andrew Castle and Greg Rusedski ked were gobbsmacked at the woman and they especially Andrew Castle couldn't figure out how the woman could knit and watch the tennis at same time, I laughted to-myself and thought well Andrew did you never hear of muli- tasking??? that's why us woman can do and you men can't hee hee, anyway Great British team lost the tennis too awhhhhhhhhhhhh

Finished Projects, TATTY TEDDIES, they are so cute and I discovered that my eldest daughter love's them and is collecting them, so when my cross stitch magazine was delivered and I saw this

I was delighted cos I bought a full cross-stitch kit at the range and boy!!!! they are expensive and the pink teddy worked out cheaper, cos I found a great site for cheap threads and loads more so I now buy from this site all the time

I put some card around them and added a few nice touches, a bit of bling and I'm quite happy with the results, I also have bought some crosstitch magazine's from e-bay with the christmas teddies, so can ya guess what my daughter is getting for christmas....

A True Friend

Do you remember the cross-stitch of the true friends I did for my friend, well I showed her the finished work and ask her if she could read it, and it said A TRUE FRIEND IS A FOUND TREASURE and she said "oh that's beautiful and the words are a lovely saying" well said "that's for you my true friend"and she started crying and said she was very honoured and it would take and it would take pride and place in her home awhhhhhhhhhhhh

I didn't do much crafting this week, because I had my sister from home (Ireland )stay with me for a week and as I haven't seen her in 8yrs we had alot of catching up to do, plus some shopping here in Yorkshire.

She brought some goodies from home that I cannot get here, (this is sad really) she brought some KINGS CRISPS/TAYTO CRISPS and spice burgers which were georgous!!!!

I love new gadgets, we decided to get the new sky recorder box, and it's great, cos I can record all my own favorite TV programme's that I have missed cos something else has come on TV, plus I can record the whole series of a programme, and watch at my leisure.

The bloke that came to insert it in house was a howl, his jokes were corny, but funny at same time if ya know what I mean

Wow I didn't know it was that long since I last posted, there was alot going on in my world, house hunting, and sickness, and computer debugging, told you there was alot.

I'm going to a birthday party this evening, of a good friend of ours, who has been going through hell, she has throat cancer, and has all her kimeo, but not cured unfortunate and we think this is her last birthday and that is why she is holding one, cos she not one for birthday parties, she will be 49 to-day, and has only invited her special friends her words not mine, sad really, but we will all make it a special day for her......
That's us on holiday in Greece together about 4yrs ago, sue is the one on the right with straw hat, we had a fabulous time , will take my camera to-day also to take some photo's and memories......

I was devastated to hear the news that Michael Jackson had passed away, I was a big fan since I was 12yrs old old,the first song I heard was ABC, and I want ya back, plus I loved the TV show every Saturday morning the Jackson five, he was a legend and a great great artist, his music will always live on, and I can only say what everyone else is saying on internet "the world has lost a legend" and from me "Michael rest in peace and may the angels bring you home on gentle wings you will be missed and you are not alone......

This is my first book mark, it's called Paisley and there are 8 in the series and I have 3 of them, they are in kit form Aida fabric( 20.3x6cm) a chart DMC mouline Stranded Cotton and
Light Effects Thread and instructions.

I found stitching with the effects thread was difficult, it broke easily,so plenty of patience is what is needed or plenty of years experience....

I only put blue card around it for effect, will have to frame it...

I bought these 2 pair of scissors on e-bay for £3.50 postage free, love them and they are very sharp exactly what one wants when cross stitching....

Love it or hate it that's the question, Face book!!!!

I don't hate it or love it,it's okish I only go on face book to see family and friends, but I find bebo better in saying that I now have it on my mobile phone so when computer is playing up I can still natter on there.I suppose it's a bit of fun, that's if your into that kinda stuff, but I find it drab, I know my oldest daughter loves it, she is on there all the time and I mean all day and most of the night, awh well each to their own I suppose...

My son's birthday yesterday he was 29yrs old, and I said to him, "well son what does it feel to be getting old" and he replied jokingly , well I think it was a joke, " you should know your older by 20 yrs mam" (cheeky git) yeah I said but I don't look 20 yrs older than you ( self praise) in return he said" what mirror do you look in mam, must have loads of cracks in it to disguise the wrinkle's, I said" you must love the sound of the ambulance siren's cos you will be in one in a minute, and we both laughed, yep I got the last word hee hee

Well the sun is coming my way,
sat outside in garden in the shade as I only have to wink at the sun and I get burned, but I still managed to get burned well my arms did, even though I had sun cream on and highest factor too.

I said to hubby I should be like a Muslim women (no disrespect) and wear the traditional dress which cove re's the women from head to toe with a gown while in public. The traditional Muslim woman's gown is called the "burka", or "burqua". There are actually at least two main types of burquas. The "full burka" (or "chador") is a garment covering the whole body, with a heavy veil covering the eyes as well. The other burka is a kind of veil to cover the head having a slit on the front for the eyes.

yes that's what I should wear while in the sun, mind ya I would still get burned in that too.So tomorrow it's suppose to be sunny again,so looks like I stay indoors awhhhhhhhh, hubby say I won't burn tomorrow if I sat outside I would just go brown, a chance I don't think I would take, more than likly I would get sun stroke, and thats not nice thing to happen cos I got that years ago's as a child and spent a week in hospital, but thats another story....

Shopping Spree

I went in town Saturday just to do some shopping (well window shopping really) go to markets, and my favorite charity shops, and here is what I bought, all in charity shops,

this was £1.50 to keep my sewing in and in another charity shop I saw this and had to get it........

I also bought 2 cross stitch books they cost me £4 for both...

Hubby dragged me out of the charity shops in case I saw something else, so we went to markets and in the indoor market I discovered a knitting shop, It's called Stitch and Knit, it's a small shop and the owner is a lovely lady, and I got talking to her and asked her advice about cross stitching and what would be the easiest project for a beginner and she showed me loads of kits all in differ ant price range's, so I bought one, (hubby should have left me in charity shop lol )

She also has beautiful wool, but I was very self controlled on wool hee hee

I'm so thrilled that I finished my very first cross stitch project, I even framed it, well come on it's my first one hee hee I will say this that it wasn't easy, I kept dropping my needle, I had to use a magnifying glass and I had to work out instructions myself, what kind of stitches cos it didn't have any, but over all I'm happy with it and I know it will get easier as I do more, can't wait to start another though

We went for a walk yesterday,weather was lovely so we decided to take dog's out, plus I wanted to go for a walk and to-day I suffer, but hey I enjoyed the walk especially since I got out of house..

To-day I have been doing absolutely nothing because I can't move, so I'm looking at blogs and new sites I found for my hobby,and reading a book by Harold Robbins called Memories of Yesterday, I read it before I like Harold Robbins I have a few and read a few of his books, but this evening I will do some crafting, plus it's my TV night, Holby City and new drama called All the small things, and then what ever is on after that, hubby can have TV back then hee hee

Just to show my cross stitch progress, I'm enjoying stitching, complete difference from knitting or crocheting, have to wear my glasses, alot though and you need very good lighting also..

This one I could use a hoop as you can see from circle mark on it, but I am assured that when finished and washed the mark will come out....

This is one of the kits I bought my daughterit's a big one and Iwill need a square hoop thingy for it,and I think this will take me ages/months to do,
mind ya if it's gonna take me months to finish, wonder how long it would have been for daughter, (year's) no wonder she never done any of it, hee hee

I have started a new craft, It's cross stitch, I bought 2 cross stitch kits in 2008 for Christmas along with 2 rug plan kits, for my daughter as a hobby, and as I was in one of those clearing out mood's, I came across them in a box unopened, cross stitch kits were unopened and one of the rug/cushions kit was unopened, and as she has flown the nest so to speak I thought she took them with her, I rang her and asked if she wanted me to post them to her she no that she wouldn't have the time to do them plus she forgot she had them, there's gratitude for ya, well at least I know now what not to get her for presents again....

So looks like I will do them and give my knitting needles and crochet hook a rest for awhile, looking forward in doing them, the cushion/rug I know how to do, I did it years ago with my mum, it was one of those hooks that I fell on, and injured my back an silly accident and I never did one of those rugs since, I was about 12yrs old when it happened, a long time ago.....

Found the pattern for the night dress case, and knit 2, the pink and purple one in double knitting wool, and the blue and white was knitted in chunky wool, as I have only one grandaughter she gets all the knitted toys except when I knit/crochet for new born's so she is getting the pink one,

and my youngest daughter who by the way is 19yrs old is taking the blue one

I knit this a while ago, I got idea from a group I'm in, one of the women had it as an avatar slightly different, but I thought it was lovely, so I decided to knit one, the legs and arms were knit on circular needles 2 at same time, which was tricky with the changing of stripes and then the black in-between, but when I finished it hubby asked who I knit it for," I told him no-body really" well he said" it's mine then" I think it's great his face has loads of character and cheeky" yeah I said just like you" hee hee anyway here he is:

I changed his crown for a orange one instead of yellow and I darned golden thread around it.

both together..

They were very easy to knit, took me over 2 nights to knit,and used up odd balls of wool I had, they are a loveable couple, but they won't turn into prince/princess if they were kissed ha ha ha

Family on BEBO

Well I have an account on Bebo and a few weeks ago, I discovered that most of my Family are on Bebo, so for the last few weeks I have been chatting to them and posting photos, new and old one on bebo and they have been doing the same, and they take some of mine and I take theirs (photos) I haven't seen them since I moved to England that's 9yrs ago so you can imagine the joy I was feeling when I saw them on bebo, and how big my niece's/nephews have grown.

It's great on bebo because my kid's can chat and exchange mobile numbers with their cousins that they haven't seen in yrs either, and exchange photos too
It means they can keep in touch, because they are mostly all the same age.

hubby was laughing at me, cos all he could hear while I was on computer was
" oh my God she has how many kid's"or " oh how big they have grown"or
" our Ann watches the same TV programme's as me" etc etc
I call that talking to myself out loud hee hee, (well I could have been singing out loud)

WELL WHERE DO I START ON SATURDAY MORNING I WOKE UP WITH MY RIGHT HAND VERY SWOLLEN, AND VERY ITCHY DURING THE DAY THE SWELLING WENT DOWN A BIT, BUT ITCH WAS GETTING WORSE, MY OH WANTED TO TAKE ME TO HOSPITAL, I SAID NO WAY I WOULD FEEL STUIPED GOING JUST FOR A SWOLLEN HAND, I WILL GO TOMOROW I SAID.

SUNDAY MORNING IT WAS STILL THE SAME BUT THE ITCH MOVED FROM PALM TO WRIST SO I SAID I WOULD WAIT TILL MONDAY TO SEE GP, IF IT HAD'NT GONE, SO MONDAY MORNING ALL WAS OK, SWELLING WAS NEARLY GONE AND ITCH WAS GOING TOO, AS I HADN'T DONE ANY KNITTING OVER WEEKEND, I WOULD TRY DO SOME ON MONDAY EVENING,

YESTERDAY TUESDAY MORNING I WOKE WITH MY LEFT HAND SWOLLEN, AND EXTREMLY ITCHY, SO OFF TO DOCTORS, AND HE SENT ME TO HOSPITAL, WAITED FOR 4HRS TO SEE A DOC, AND I SEEM TO HAVE AN ALLERGY TO SOMETHING, BUT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT COS THERE IS NO RASH, AND IF IT'S NOT GONE IN 2/3 DAYS I HAVE TO GO BACK, THEY GAVE ME CREAM FOR ITCH, AND TABLETS FOR THE SWELLING, SO AS YOU CAN SEE I HAD A GREAT FEW DAY'S

We went to the pet store to get a new fish tank,cos when OH was cleaning out the tank we discovered a crack in the tank,and it started to leak,so my big baking bowl came in handy, so now (Ant/Dec and Dick/Dom the fish's names) have a new house with a few new things in it as well,

we also made a visit to PC World to get a memory card for my new camera,my hubby bought me for xmas,so now I can take photos (950) to my hearts content,we also went to the Range to buy a big storage box, for my Jars that I have collected, Iam going to teach myself how to make Jam/Chutneys for the summer, (she say's with great intentions)

The car park and stores were packed, it took us 35mins to get out of carpark even made worse when drivers keep pushing in,its very annoying,cos no matter how much they push, they are still stuck like everyone else,

I love this christmas carol, when I was in church choir, about 12yrs ago, I got to sing this solo at the christmas eve mass, and I really enjoyed singing it, even the high bits as well,thats is when I could sing, now I can't sing for my supper ..... I have been looking for this song on cd by josh groban, he sang it in america in 2002 and can't get it anywhere even on e-bay!!! Now for some bit of history on this beautiful christmas carol

O Holy Night" ("Cantique de Noël") is a well-known Christmas carol composed by Adolphe Adam in 1847 to the French poem "Minuit, chrétiens" by Placide Cappeau (1808-1877), a wine merchant and poet. Cappeau was asked to write a Christmas poem by a parish priest. It has become a standard modern carol for solo performance with an operatic finish.

Born: October 25, 1808, Roquemaure, France.
Died: August 8, 1877, Roquemaure, France

According to Placide, he wrote the poem, “Minuit Chrétien” (O Holy Night) in a stagecoach to Paris, between Mâcon and Dijon. More likely, this famous Christmas carol was written by Cappeau in the usual way. Despite Adolphe Adam calling his tune “la Marseillaise religieuse” (The religious Marseillaise), In the carol, the singer recalls the birth of Jesus. It was translated into English by Unitarian minister John Sullivan Dwight, editor of Dwight's Journal of Music in 1855, and lyrics also exist in other languages.

Adams had been dead for many years and Cappeau and Dwight were old men when on Christmas Eve 1906, Reginald Fessenden, a 33-year-old university professor and former chief chemist for Thomas Edison, did something long thought impossible. Using a new type of generator, Fessenden spoke into a microphone and, for the first time in history, a man's voice was broadcast over the airwaves: "And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed," he began in a clear, strong voice, hoping he was reaching across the distances he supposed he would. Shocked radio operators on ships and astonished wireless owners at newspapers sat slack-jawed as their normal, coded impulses, heard over tiny speakers, were interrupted by a professor reading from the gospel of Luke.
To the few who caught this broadcast, it must have seemed like a miracle, hearing a voice somehow transmitted to those far away. Some might have believed they were hearing the voice of an angel. Fessenden was probably unaware of the sensation he was causing on ships and in offices; he couldn't have known that men and women were rushing to their wireless units to catch this Christmas Eve miracle.
After finishing his recitation of the birth of Christ, Fessenden picked up his violin and played "O Holy Night," the first song ever sent through the air via radio waves. When the carol ended, Fessenden read another selection from the book of Luke: "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men of good will." The Christmas program was picked up as far south as Norfolk, Virginia; when the program was repeated on New Year's Eve, it was heard as far away as the West Indies.

Since that first rendition at a small Christmas mass in 1847, "O Holy Night" has been sung millions of times in churches in every corner of the world. And since the moment a handful of people first heard it played over the radio, the carol has gone on to become one of the entertainment industry's most recorded and played spiritual songs. This incredible work--requested by a forgotten parish priest, written by a poet who would later split from the church, given soaring music by a Jewish composer, and brought to Americans to serve as much as a tool to spotlight the sinful nature of slavery as tell the story of the birth of a Savior--has become one of the most beautiful, inspired pieces of music ever created. My Secret Santa parcel arrived from Lise aka Miss Roylecake from the lets knit forum and I was like a little child waiting for Santa all excited hee hee till I could open it, the OH kept telling me to open it but I resisted the temptation and didn't open it till yesterday evening the 21st and it was beautiful, there was a pair of glovelets and pattern

some handcream and bubblebath, some stitch holders and a little book of pleasure, its sayings of calm thoughts here is just one of the little sayings in book: "Become as spontaneous and as contented as a child by substituting a few childlike qualities - even superficial ones - for some of your adultness" I think I already done that with my secret Santa...

Bad day

Well I have spent all day in bed cos i have got bad flu and i feel miserable,all my OH fault he got his flu jab cos he had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago and last week he got a head cold and was like a little baby why are men like that when they a bitty cold....

But I knew it I would get it and get it bad and I was right,the one time I didn’t want to be right huff huff trying to get a cuppa is terrible in my house, I have to use my mobile and ring the phone downstairs and ask imagine!!!!! using sons laptop, if only he knew lol lol

A good project to use up some scrap wool and didn't take that long to do either, I think the longest bit was all the sewing at the end, but I'm happy with it...

I love these wrist-warmers, they were easy to knit and I know picture isn't all that good but they are lime green, they are from the Irish hiking pattern, and I saw Cherly's (grant 42) from the let's knit forum scarf in this pattern and it's beautiful, so might knit one for myself....

Sorted out Christmas fairy lights yesterday, and one set needs new fuse bulb, so have to shop for them, got all my Christmas decorations/trimmings ready to be put up, usually on my youngest daughter's birthday which is the 10Th and tradition was the youngest of family put the angel on top, but my youngest don't live with me anymore, she is 19yrs . so I will have to change it to the oldest hee hee which is hubby hee hee, but might leave it till nearer the day to put up decorations/trimmings.....

I was trying to work out what I did to upset the God's or what I did in my former life to deserve more bad news this year!! My Husband having just recovered from a heart attack a few months ago and starting a new job which was great for him cos he was starting to doubt himself and his ability to ever do anything again and also to provide for his Family was his big thing and he was looking great and starting to feel better in himself, loving his job as it meant that I could travel with him sometimes and that was just to get me out of house which was great for me as I'm housebound anyway what am I babbling on about ????

well my Hubby was laid off that great job to-day. It's devastating!!! and no warning the company went bust over weekend and as he only started a few months ago no redundancy's pay and it's 23 days to CHRISTMAS so now we are back to square one again and I don't know if I should laugh or cry honest!!!
My worry and hubby's is him getting another job before Christmas and because he turns 50 next year and then there is his heart condition, what next I wonder????

I know I started my secret Santa late this year as I'm trying to catch up now, and it seems there is not enough hours in day, along with housework shopping etc plus I'm writing letters to friends at home in Ireland, yeah some don't have computers and I have a big Family there also which is 8 of us all together so getting address, and new nephew's/nieces that would be in total 44, and then their babies some total of 8, so if ya add it all up between family,nephews/nieces and babies that's 52 and that's not counting partners/spouses which are all living in Ireland...

Then there is my children/step children and grandchildren/step granchildren, and their spouses /partners CONFUSED!!!! I am all the time HEE HEE HEE,
Thank God I don't have to buy Christmas for all in Ireland I would need to take out a big bank loan,or even knit/crochet for them I would have to start knitting/crocheting in beginning of the year for that Christmas, so we just send cards and letters, told ya I had a big Family

Hubby came home from work early on Thursday around 5pm, and said he was only home for a short time and that he had a suprise he was off to Belgium, So he came home for some clean clothes, and his trucking gear and passport and last but not least MEEEEEEEEE..

yes you saw it right I was going to Belgium, just for one night.

we had to get to Barton-upon-Trent in Derby shire first, by 9pm to pick up his delivery,(car parts)

and then on to Dover for 2am sailing.

All was going well till we got to Darby, the car parts were not ready and wouldn't be ready till
10.30/11, which meant we might not make the 2am sailing and we would have to wait till the 4am sailing wasn't really looking forward to have to be waiting around for hours in cold docks,but
it turned out the company in Darby were good and got truck loaded by 10pm and off we went to Dover and just made it, with about half hour to spare Phew!!! we boarded the ship and
off we sailed to .Dunkerque..

It was 4am Friday morning when we got to Dunkerque and still within hubby's driving time (he has to by law drive for 4/half hrs and then have a 45 minute break) we were told the delivery was to go to a place at Brussels airport, and as we were never in Belgium/Brussels before I as co driver had to read map (hee hee ), and yes you guessed it we got lost, reading maps and looking for street names is hard, and no we hadn't a European sat nav either, but we had more or less all day to get to where we were supposed to go.

We got to centre of Brussels by following the signs for airport as you do!!!and ended up driving down this tunnel in city centre,

which was not supposed to be for trucks and as hubby was panicking I got the giggles, I could not stop from laughing when the noise in tunnel from the truck hitting off the roof was extremely loud and took about fifteen minutes to go through, we emerged with relief, but we were still lost, so I told hubby to stop someone and ask for directions, which he did this is the conversation that took place

At that hubby looked at me and I just burst out laughing, can't write the rest cos it's full of bleeps lol lol so I told hubby to find parking spot and we can go for coffee and maybe we can ask someone else, that will understand what we are looking for, to cut long story short we eventually got to airport only to discover that the place we were delivering to was not at airport but near it, so I had to ring company and be directed to where it was situated, which by the way was no-where the airport!!!

All delivered and unloaded so now all we had to do was look for somewhere to stay and eat and set off in morning, cos off driving law hubby couldn't drive for 12 hrs, so we stopped up and rested in truck stop in Brussels....

Go up early to start heading back to Dunkerque and hubby received phone call, he had another pick-up to do that came in over the night and it was in Maastricht in Holland for Portsmouth in UK and pick up was for 7am their time(they are an hour ahead of UK) so off we went to Holland, and my map reading was not that bad, (thank God)

so we found company easily enough got loaded and off we went to Dunkerque to catch the ferry home, and this was the tricky bit because we had to travel back through Brussels,we got stuck in traffic for 2 hrs now as my map reading skills were getting better hubby wasn't really listening to where I was telling him to go, what turns to take turns etc so I said OK you look out for signs for docks and left him to it lol lol while i admired the scenery anyway he was behind this English truck for ages and decided to follow it his logic was that it was English and going to docks for ship too, but what ship and from what port ??? ah you guessed not Dunkerque, the truck was going to Calais, and I knew it was going there cos as he over took the truck at one point I noticed a sticker on window saying Dover to Calais, now do I tell him or leave it and see what happens, no I told him, I wanted to go home, just as well because we could have gone a long way away

We were queuing up for customs for ship when the women asked when we booked our passage and hubby explained that he didn't but his boss did, and she said that she could not find our names on list and with a half hour to boarding we were cutting it fine so we had to ring boss and he in turn rang the booking agent and discovered that they never booked for our return, but they would now, so we had to go through customs check and they check truck for whatever and passports, and the customs officer asked me why does Dublin, (where I'm from) have 3 names in Irish on my passport ( Bailie Atha Cliath) now I thought oh god what does he want to know that for was it a trick question etc, what if I get it wrong will he let me through etc so I told him it means home town Dublin, and he said "ah that's interesting never knew that, some of my friends are Irish and I asked them but they don't know " oh and enjoy your trip home" That was all!!!the sweat was running off me I thought I was having a hot flush, I'm useless going through customs even though I haven't done anything wrong, I always get like that just nerves!!

Another 2 hours and we would be back on home turf so from Dover to Portsmouth here we come

and another night away from home, so we got unloaded in Portsmouth and hubby was fiddling with his sat nav whilst trying to steer and I'm telling him to pull over and fiddle with sat nav, he gets pulled up by the police, the police officer said "sir do you know why we pulled you over??

Hubby said "No officer" well said the police officer" you were swerving back there so we have to check" so he was brutalised and truck was checked, when they were finished he got back into truck and I laughed, see I told ya!!!!! feeling smug lol lol we found a premier Inn and booked in for the night and slept (oh and I missed children in need and CSI) but got up at 7am Saturday morning and headed home to Doncaster.So my one night turned into 3 days 2 nights, and all I brought back with me was very sore and cracked lips, why???? I don't know, must have been the dry air in truck from heated I think....That was my 3 days Adventure....

A Biscuit or Cookie????

This is a Biscuit recipe that I have used for years and I haven't baked them in years so I decided to bake some the other day (Wednesday) and they went down a storm, in fact they disappeared quite quickly so I thought I would share:

INGREDIENTS
50g/10tsp/1 3/4oz butter
125g/1/2 cup/4 1/2oz caster sugar
1 egg beaten
50g/1/2 cup/1 3/4oz plain flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 baking powder
175g/2 cups/6oz porridge oats
125g/3/4 cup/41/2oz of raisins

method

Lightly grease 2 baking sheets, In a large bowl cream tog the butter,sugar until creamy, add the egg gradually and mix well, sieve the flour,salt,baking powder into mixture and mix well, now add porridge, raisins mix well..
Place spoonfuls of mix on to baking trays and flatten with the back of your spoon, spread apart cos it will melt, bake in a preheated oven 180C/350F/gas 4 for 15/20 minutes, sprinkle with extra caster sugar while they are still warm and then leave to cool, and then ENJOY!!!!!

New Skin

I'm addict to blogger skins/templates, and yet another one but I like this one especially since it has 3 columns, which I can put more stuff on, and it's lovely and colourfully, so now this one stays and I'm not going to change anymore to much hard work, having to save and re-enter all my links and pic etc, that's it now, no more....

Hubby says's it wont stay that way for to long, cos I will get fed up eventually, looking at same page, like I do with furniture in house, because I kept shifting it around, because I get fed up looking at it in the same place, I had to remind him I don't do that now, well haven't done it in a long long time, not since I got bad with my back.I remember as a child my mother (god rest her soul) used to do it all the time, we as kid's would come home from school and she would have shifted the furniture around every week or so, and then put it back in the same place again once she even had stripped wallpaper from walls even though it was only decorated months before,because she didn't like the pattern on wallpaperI once heard my granny saying "moving things in house all the time means a restless soul looking for prayers" wow my mum must have been on her knee's all the time then lol now don't know if that's true, more than likely a old wives tale, strange saying the old wives tales????

These are a pair of wrist warmers, that I knitted with a dragonfly on them,my own design, I only knit them to see if I could do it, and from picture in my head and scribbles on paper, antenna's I sewed on after, they were a bit fiddly cos of wool tangling on me plus I knit them on 2 circular needles 2 at the same time, but I still enjoyed knitting them...

Well here they are, only 2 crochet so far, but I have to say they turned out better than I had expected, my friend came to visit and I gave her the yellow one for her Grandson to be (not born yet) and she was over the moon with it.The other blanket is for my stepgrandson due any day now, and the other blanket I have yet to start is another grandson expected in January, so I have a bit of time for that one.

The pattern I haven't a clue where I got it from I found it on a sheet of paper in a folder that I had written on cos it was a short pattern, It's Sc and 2 Dc all in the same chain, it works up beautifully and doesn't need an edging, so if anyone reading this knows where it came from let me know....

Now all I have to do is order some more wool, for 1 more blanket well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it lol

I was listening to some music, while I was crocheting baby blankets, I have 3 on the go, and all for boys (photos coming soon of blankets) anyway the new song from Will Young is brill!!!!! I loved it some such I went on Internet to get lyrics and I swear the song was written for me!!!! It's all about wanting life to change, and yes I hear you say, don't we all want our lives to change, or do we, now thats the 64million dollar question????

My Appeal!!!

My Appeal was on Monday for my disability benefit, I went to Sheffield on Monday and to tell the truth I was bricking it, My husband drove from doncaster to try and get there for 10am, and all the time I was sitting in car I was terrified, with what they the dwp were going to do,questions they were going to ask etc,I was putting myself through this in order that I could get the higher rate.
I got into my wheelchair which I hate, and waited and waited, cos the dwp were running late, anyway eventually I got to see them, and the questions began, when did I injure my back, when did I have operation, what was doctors name, tablets I was on and why???dahhhhhhh for the pain, how do I manage to use loo at night,how do I use bath, how do I dress my self etc answered all their questions, even though they had a file with all this information on it, doctor's reports, hospital reports,even the pain management clinic reports, and they still want questions answered, anyway the upshot of it all was..... I was refused it, because I could walk around house with the aid of sticks.....I was gobsmacked....

I left there feeling real small and a fool to have put myself through all that and for nothing
I cried most of the way home, in fact I felt so down hubby wanted to take me around Sheffield and suggest go shopping to a wool shop, but I was so gutted and demoralised all I wanted to do was just go home, which we did, and I still haven't got over it yet, 3 yrs fighting this appeal for nothing, and the worst of it all is I know people on higher rate of disability and there is nothing wrong with them, but that they are great blaggers, It's so unfair.....

These are gloves, well they are really called wrist warmers, They worked out OK I knitted them 2 at the same time on the circular needles,and added a thumb, but you could leave out the thumb if you wanted, so the sock principle was the same, and also quick to knit, so guess what some of my family will find in their christmas socking...

Additive

Knitting socks 2 at the same time on 2 circular needles is getting very additive, more additive than before I can't get enough, plus as I said before it so so quick, so here is another pair finished

These were knitted with dk wool 2 strands together and cable down the middle, which I think gives them a nice effect, these ones are mine just for wearing around house now that the cold weather is here oh and I have also learned how to do the Kitchener stitch which is good because it gives a nice finish to socks...

I have started a pair of fingerless gloves, there are called wrist warmers and knitting them on 2 circular needles like I knit the socks, I think it's more or less the same principles as socks well that's my thinking we'll have to wait and see if it works out.....

beaded wristbands

I knit these about a month ago, but forgot to post them....They were from pattern's I got from Knitty .com, they were really easy,and I knitted them with crochet thread size 10, which means very thin cotton, used a size 2mm crochet hook, I didn't tread beads on first, I put them on as I go along with a very fine needle, can't get to grips the other way

Another pair of socks finished, knitting them 2 at a time is great and so quick they seem to knit up really fast, just as well with the cold weather coming in so quickly too,I knit these for hubby (again)and I done the heel with double wool, just to make it stronger, because I don't know what my hubby does with his feet/boots but he seems to get holes in his socks really easily,so I hope these will last him a bit longer than a few weeks..

These I crocheted, and really easily too,I made it all up as I was going along, and crochet them in half an hour, there is a slight difference between the two pairs, and it helped get rid of some scrap yarn,I prefer the pair on the left, cos they fit better..

Not been feeling to good health wise the last few weeks, and this week been in bed most of the time, because I couldn't move,cold weather is effecting my back terrible and no amount of pain killers are doing any good, had doctor visit, (she is lovely)she gave me an injection for my back in the buttocks <<<<" like Forrest Gump would say") and some cream for the nasty rash I developed around my neck, how or where I got it I do not know, but it's there and it looks like someone tried to hang a noose around my neck. Pheobe my pet dog, has arthritis in her right hip and she is limping , she was bad yesterday didn't eat, just slept all day,but to-day she looks better and she nearly took my hand off to-day, while I was putting her dish out for her lol

Ben on the other hand got out on me today one minute he was in back garden next he was gone and I had to go look for him,now here is where all the problems start. (1) there was no-one else in house, so I would have to go out, (2) I suffer from panic attacks, and (3) I can't walk very far.
I rang hubby, who by the way was in London delivering something or other, and told him what was happening, what he was supposed to do I didn't know, well I did really, (he would come charging up to house like my knight in shining armour on a white horse with Ben and all would be OK again) yeah as if... well a girl can dream..
Back to story, hubby stayed on phone as I walked with my 2 walking sticks in hand down our street, and he kept talking to me all the time,I had my mobile ear thingy in before you ask, I was only about 6 houses down from my house when panic set in, the what ifs??? and still no sign of the dog, and my swearing to my-self was getting worse, thank God there was nobody around because if they saw me, moving very slowly and talking and swearing to myself, they would think I was let out for the day from the loony bin.

I hadn't a clue what my hubby was saying cos I didn't really hear him but I knew he was there, another few houses down a car drove by me, and I was willing it to stop and be someone I knew as you do, but no it didn't stop, and then out of no-where a woman was calling me, and asked me if I lost a dog, I said yeah, she found him down her street which is miles from my house and he was in back of her car because she was driving out of her driveway and she nearly ran him down, so she decided to drive around to see if anyone was out looking for him and saw me, with an empty dog lead in my hand, she was very nice and even asked if I wanted a lift home, and guess what I said......No thank you I only live a few houses away, I was so embarrassed cos I was panicking and felt so so stupid, when I eventually got bk to my house I cried with relief, 1 I found dog and 2 I was back home safe and sound..

Projects finished

I have finished some projects that I had half done last weekend,(just so I could well have a clear out so to speak)so I had some amigurumi's cats and hats oh and an elephant,(which I'm most proud because it is my own pattern) I also came across in a bag a project finished just the sewing up and stuffing and I haven't a clue what it is, all I know is, it is an amigurumi of some sort, and because I don't know what it is I don't know what pattern to look for, there are 8 pieces ah I will find out what it is eventually lol...

Anyway my daughter saw the cats in my Picasa photo album and she wants them, and then came the " mam can you also make me a penguin/pig/turtle, I think they are soooo cute" also some sock's, and a pair for bed to keep my footie's warm"
I ask ya, she must think I do nothing all day but knit, well she is half right, after housework is done, that's when I can do some and that would be a good day, if my back and leg's let me,because it is very hard to do some housework while trying to hold on to walking sticks, I then can relax and do some knitting/crocheting, all depends on my mood...

Getting on great with the circular needles, and knitting 2 socks at same time is great!!! no more sss (second sock syndrome) yippee

My first pair of socks, knitted on circular needles, and I found knitting them great compared to dpn, they knitted up fairly quickly too it seemed, so now thats something new I have learned to do, My other half said they are great for his work boots, and very comfy and that he want's some more, so it looks like Iam going to have to learn how to do the 2 at the same time then, oh it should be fun!!!!

Well it's my Birthday to-day 11th, I was born on a Sunday,and I was thinking of that poem, you know the one!!! We all learned it when we were small kiddies, and it goes like this:

Mondays child is fair of face,

Well I'm bonny and blithe, good and gay, that sounds pretty good to me...

I haven't been to good last few day's, feeling a bit down and my back is playing up too, could it be I wonder that my ** birthday is looming, on the 11th Sept, or maybe it could be what happened 7yrs ago in the USA, the bombing of the 2 towers (9/11)terrible tragedy, and the loss of all those Innocent people... God Bless all them all

These are my babies PHOEBE on the topand BEN on the bottom,their not babies anymore though, they were born on the 19th Jan 1999, to Sire Botanic Master Class and Dam Botanic Lady, (their birth names for registration by the owner before sold) are Botanic Dancer Rosie and Botanic Highflier, phoebe (Rosie)does not live up to her name as she does not do any dancing lol ...just lies around house all day and gives the odd grump now and again and keeps moving her dish around floor to let you know she wants food, she reminds me of that monster in the movie THE LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, where he sings Feed me Seymour,Feed me, if she could sing that's what she would sing, or
food glorious food .....
Now Ben(highflier) is the total opposite, he loves to play, run and he would walk the feet of ya if ya let him, he loves walking, running etc and as for toys, just give him a ball of any description and he would chew it to pieces and loves his comfort he loves to lay beside you on chair that's if I let him, when he gets on couch he takes over.....,I always joke about them being Yorkshire Terriers but with Irish blood running through their veins and of course they were born in Ireland, and now they are living in Yorkshire, so their Irish Yorkshire Terriers, well they are really!!!! You should see their Family tree it's amazing.....

Anyone for tea??? I was looking for a new mug but a big one cos I drink tea, I love tea,so I went shopping and in a charity shop my favorite one, (the British Heart Foundation ) there it was sitting on a shelf surrounded by lots of ornaments, but that was the mug for me and you will see why in picture below....

Parcels arrived yesterday from E-bay, and guess what it's not wool/yarn!!!! (no I'm not sick I hear you ask lol) I just wanted something for myself and no not been selfish lol, well I'm always buying from E-bay for other people,and wool ect, so I just thought,It's meeeeeee time....

Now you see them, now you don't????...What am I babbling on about you ask,well to cut a long and boring story short,I lost all my Garden Flowers photo's from my computer, how you ask??? simple answer I don't know!!!!plus when I logged into my blog they were gone from there too ???aghhhhhhh What happened I haven't a clue???

So now I have to post this again....

Here are some pictures of the flowers growing in my garden, the ROSES are my favorite, and I had 7 roses on that bush this year never had before, must be something good in soil the orange ones I don't know the name, and the 3 bottom flowers are called GLADIOLI, a little colour in garden is so nice, especially when I look out of window and it's a horrid day, and there are theflowers in bloom..

Well I'm back haven't posted in a while, I had a lot of stuff going on My mother-in-law passed away after a long illness she was 88yrs old, her name was Mary and she was a soft and gentle woman, she loved her bingo and her TV she was a soap addict, she is going to be sadly missed.
A thought struck me when we were at funeral that all the family were there, even some I never met?? and it's a shame though because that's is the last time that the entire family will be together again, unless (God forbid) there is another funeral,sad really

I suppose I could say same about my family, as they all live in Ireland, and when I go for a visit I don't get to see them all, cos they all live in different parts of Ireland, so there would be a lot of traveling to do plus there is a lot of us too hee hee

I'm having a very bad time with pain this weekend, I'm taking medication but it's making me very drowsy,but I have managed to finish some amigurumi's which I have posted below...

I also found a poetry book which was giving to me by a wonderful Irish man, named Jermone Stephens, who was a haemophiliac and was infected with Aids virus, through a contaminated blood product in 1982, he was a family man, and had beautiful children with his wife Elisabeth. While he was sick he wrote poetry and they were published in a book, called read My Mind,
and the poem on the right is one of my favorites....

Isn't this the most ugliest thing you ever saw, it was crocheted in fun-fur and it is supposed to be Romeo's love bubble, (compared to the one I already crocheted) well if my romeo gave that to me(Juliette) as a token of his love, I would kill myself too....
I think it is Hunchbacks bed time toy, my son said it's creepy, my hubby said it looks like an evil Pokemon
